Bye Bye Boston, Hello London!

After having spent over a year in Boston, Jen and I have decided to up and move to London. With the lure of familiar faces and a strong British pound we plan to live and work in London for 9 to 12 months. Jen has a British passport and I now have a spouse visa for the UK so we can both live and work there without messy work sponsership.

It will be sad to see Boston go. We have meet a lot of nice people here and as you can see from our photos galleries and blogs, we did a lot of great things. In particular we had an awesome ski season, racking up 27 days on the slopes.

I finish up work on May 20th and after the U2 concert on May 24th, we fly out on the 25th. We are trying to organise ourselves in terms of selling things and cleaning up. It's a big task. If any of you Bostonites are interested, we are selling a few things at http://www.dbradby.net/gallery/for-sale
. The rest we are giving away as it really isn't worth the effort.

There are things about Boston that I won't miss. Driving in and around Boston has been terrible. The rude and selfishness that people accept in driving in this area just sours my drive to and from work everyday. I cannot wait to get to London so I won't have to drive and can catch the tube everywhere. However, come back to me in 6 months when I am sick of that as well. Nothing compares to riding my bike to work through Princess Park in Melbourne.

Which brings me to the final part of our plans. We're coming home. After a short stint in London we're coming back to Australia. I think we were both a bit naive as to what it is like to cut off family and friends from your everyday life.

Any chance that you'll be passing through Sydney? I think a number of tall beers at The Wynyard are called for.

Just hurry up and get back here.

You'd had your fun teasing the Seppos. Go boil a few things in London then get your butts home.

I think I missed something. I don't even know what a Seppo is.

It's part of the Aussie slang test you'll have to pass to get back into the country so study up.

American = Yank = Tank = Septic Tank = Seppo

And you call yourself an aussie? can't wait to have you guys home, just think cricket, cricket, cricket, and it is rather strange/coincidental that you are going to be in the UK when the ashes are on... lucky bastard.

Daniel
When you get to London send me an email with your London contact details incl phone as I will be there (very) briefly around mid July...; leaving here ~22nd June. Glad you are having a ball over there. I'm sure driving in NY would be tougher than Boston though.
regards
Jeff
