Two weeks ago Jen and I went to Egypt with Peter and Suzi over the school holidays. We saw some amazing sights, some of which I partially remember from when I was there 18 years ago. We took a package tour which took us to all the usual sights such as the pyramids, Sphnix, Aswan, Luxor, Valley of Kings and of course with the standard shopping stops along the way. We came back with papyrus, stone chess set, flower oils, a traditional mens dress and of course a water pipe. What we are going to do with all this I don't know. Three of the days we spent cruising down the Nile on a luxury boat, stopping off at various temples on the way. It was a very relaxing but busy trip. I can't believe we were only away for a week.
As a reward for me sucking it up and getting onto a plane to a country known for it's terrorist attacks, this weekend we are going skiing in the French Alps. By train.
