This morning at 7:40am I started running in my first fun run. A 4km run around The Tan. With Michael pushing me (thanks Michael) the whole way, I managed a great time of 21 mins 55 secs. I was aiming for under 22 minutes but wasn't sure if I could do it. That's the first time I've been around The Tan and I've got to say, that's one major hill in there! What's next? Well after I enjoy a good new years (and hopefully take some long exposure shots of the fireworks) I think maybe an 8km working up to a half marathon (21km)

I have attemped another star trail shot with my SLR camera. Armed with a second hand 28mm lens and plenty of batteries, I took about 10 photos of varying exposure time. Needless to say the longest time of only 15 minutes was the winner. I was scared to try any longer in case the batteries went flat.
This was taken facing SW at around 11pm on Christmas Eve. Although this picture doesn't contain any of Santa' Reindeer, it does contain two interesting features. I'm still learning, but I'm fairly sure there is a shooting star located from the left edge in the middle, going up towards the top right hand corner. Also just above the tree in the bottom left hand corner I think is the Large Magellanic Cloud. It hangs around the South Celestrial Pole.
I did also take some other SLR shots that are worth looking at

Towards the end of January, Jen and I are going to move to Boston where I'll be working for a company called jPeople. A great group of J2EE/Websphere consultants. Sound familiar? They are very much like the company I work for at the moment Cirrustech. It will be sad to leave family, Cirrus and .. of course .. Melbourne. But Boston is going to be an awesome experience and we're very much looking forward to it.
I'm already starting to follow all the local sporting teams and I'm even checking the Boston weather. Wow am I in for a weather shock when I get there. It was 38.3C here the other day, while Boston is getting snow storms.
Anyway not much should change in here. Prob the same old release postings with the odd weird link or personal joke with someone. I have setup a photos site that I hope to use to show friends and family that I'm still alive and well. There is some older photos up there already.
I am moving my blog to not only a new server but also some new software. I didn't want to have to rely on Bigpond (rely ... Bigpond ...HAH) anymore and I guess in their defence, they aren't are hosting service. Anyway I am hooked up to Host Gator for aboot $15 US a month and it comes with all these nice features. Jen and I will be using the email heaps and the lphpnl.com is in the process of propagating over here as well.
